German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ): Address, Jobs and Careers;- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Corporation for International Cooperation GmbH), often abbreviated to GIZ, is a German development agency based in Bonn and Eschborn providing services in international development cooperation, international education and employment.
The main delegated body of the GIZ is the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Other commissioners include the institutions of the European Union, the United Nations, the private sector and governments of other countries. GIZ works on its projects with partners in national governments, private sector actors, civil society and research institutions. The stated goal of the Foundation is to provide effective solutions that provide people with better prospects and sustainably improve their living conditions.
GIZ was founded on 1 January 2011, through the merger of three German international development organizations: Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst (DED), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), and Internationale Weiterbildung und Entwicklung (InWEnt). GIZ is one of the world’s largest development agencies, with a turnover of over 3.1 billion euros in 2019 and 22,199 employees spread over 120 countries.
In addition, in cooperation with the German Federal Employment Agency, GIZ operates the Center for International Migration and Development (CIM), an agency specializing in international cooperation activities related to global labor mobility.
